Enjoy Fine Dining | |
| Dining at the George is an experience. Diners have their choice of the Main Dining Room which has been sympathetically renovated to preserve it original oak beamed ceiling, or the smaller Charterhouse room. | ||
After cocktails, begin with an appetizer such as Wood Pigeon ... your main could include Medallions of Beef served with a Three Peppercorn Sauce. Savor the pleasures and finish things off with a Pineapple and Passion Fruit Cheesecake avec gourmet coffee. You're sure to enjoy. Portions are good and our rates are considered reasonable. |

There are two bars at The George, the Main Bar and the Norton or "Dungeon" bar. The Norton has been virtually untouched during recent restoration work. With its flag-stoned floor and arched stone ceiling this room remains a favorite haunt of the local villagers and residents alike. It offers an ideal setting for private parties and special occasions (weddings and anniversaries). Seating is comfortable and permitted for 20. |

The Main Bar offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. The bar bench itself is made from an 700 year old monks writing table. The room has been renovated to preserve its original grandeur. It is an intimate room with a beautiful inglenook fireplace. |
